SUPPORTING OUR YOUTH 2024
New Beginnings CDC had the great opportunity of collaborating with Building Blocks Community Initiative, a community organization like our own that empowers community members with resources that bridge gaps. Our team was able to encourage and support the youth in district 4 by providing 100 backpacks filled with school supplies as well as a monetary donation to support the activities for youth who attended the event. What a great way to end the summer and begin the school year!

Happy Health Hour Initiative
The very first Happy Hour for New Beginnings CDC offered health screening and resources. Participants were able to interact with RNs who measured blood pressure and blood glucose readings, as well as weight and BMI readings. Participants also received health resources.

The Foreclosure Deadline for 2024 is March 31st

New Beginnings CDC (NBCDC) was in the community making a difference in March by acknowledging National Nutrition Month with the families of Carleton Elementary School. Families received information around providing nutritional snacks and meals on a budget. Families also received a bag of nutritious grocery. It was inspiring to see families support the educational development of their children and a blessing to be able to support the families with grocery.

Motor City Makeover month is always a reminder of these important things:
1. We are better together
2. Every effort counts
3. We are a community that cares
4. We are not alone - - we have support
Each year the connection between people and place motivates us to clean our surrounding communities. This year New Beginnings CDC was joined by neighbors, friends, and City of Detroit employees from the HR Department to inspire beauty and community for the Moross-Morang Neighborhood by cleaning the Moross Boulevard. We were encouraged by the presence of Mayor Duggan, Councilwoman Johnson, and the support of District 4 Deputy Manager Eboni Deberry
